The contract behind the nine months.
A bespoke commission is a contract for a single made-to-measure garment. It is formed when the first-measure deposit is received and the first appointment has taken place.
Thirty per cent, non-refundable, taken at the first measure. It holds your place in the season book. Once the toile is cut — normally within four weeks — no part of it is recoverable.
Forty per cent falls due on or before the first fitting in your cloth. The final thirty per cent is due before delivery. The atelier may withhold the finished garment until payment is complete.
The commission assumes you attend all six appointments. Rescheduling within fourteen days costs nothing. Beyond fourteen days a rescheduling fee may apply.
Three consecutive missed appointments may end the commission, with instalments paid to date forfeited. We would always write before that point.
We will not copy another house’s garment. We will not accept a date we cannot finish properly. Both answers come quickly rather than after a deposit.
Nothing is charged on the day of the first appointment.
