Our Story
Runway Atelier was founded in 2014 by Athina Vlachou and Niccolò Castellani above a quiet courtyard on Skoufa Street, in the Kolonaki district of Athens. Athina trained in cutting and draping at Central Saint Martins, then worked under Antonio Berardi in London for six seasons before returning home in 2013. Niccolò is a third-generation tailor from a Florentine workshop founded by his grandfather Aldo in 1946. They met during a guest residency at the École de la Chambre Syndicale in Paris and bonded over a shared frustration: that occasion-wear in Athens had become indistinguishable from rental — fast, sized, finished by machine.
